Adipotide (CKGGRAKDC-GG-D(KLAKLAK)₂) is a chimeric pro-apoptotic peptide comprising two functional domains: a vascular-targeting domain (CKGGRAKDC) that binds to prohibitin-1 and annexin A2 on the surface of blood vessels feeding adipose tissue, and a cell-disrupting domain (D(KLAKLAK)₂) that induces mitochondrial apoptosis upon internalisation.

Originally developed for cancer vasculature targeting, Adipotide was repurposed as an adipose-selective pro-apoptotic agent. Preclinical studies in obese non-human primates demonstrated significant reduction in body mass and waist circumference through targeted elimination of fat-feeding vasculature, establishing it as a key research tool in adipose biology, angiogenesis targeting, and metabolic disease research.
