Snap-8 (Acetyl Octapeptide-3) is a synthetic eight-amino-acid acetylated peptide studied for its ability to inhibit SNARE complex formation at the neuromuscular junction. It mimics the N-terminal domain of SNAP-25, one of the three SNARE proteins required for synaptic vesicle fusion, thereby competitively reducing acetylcholine release and attenuating muscle contraction in research models.

As a longer-chain analogue of acetyl hexapeptide-3 (Argireline), Snap-8 is studied for its improved potency in SNARE inhibition assays and its application in cosmetic and dermatological research focused on dynamic expression line mechanisms. It is a standard reference compound in research on neuromuscular junction pharmacology, SNARE complex biology, and topical peptide delivery.
